"Turtle Desk Alarm Clock From Maison Lancel"
Very original small mechanical alarm clock in the shape of a turtle, in metal and gilded bronze, signed by Maison LANCEL and dating from the 1950s, to place on a desk or a bedside table. The shell lifts by pressing the push button located in the turtle's mouth to reveal the clock with a golden and nicely decorated dial background and Roman numerals inscribed inside black cartridges, very chic. On the belly of the turtle are the mechanical winder, the time setting wheel, the alarm setting wheel and the push button to activate or deactivate the alarm sound. Note some scratches from use under the mechanism, and slight wear to the gilding of the turtle, a sign of time gone by. The clock and the alarm work properly.
