Mark of the Universal Exhibition.
Height: 18.4 cm.

Utensil used for cooking food in a bain-marie; the notches at the base allowed air to escape during cooking, thus preventing the sustenteur from tipping over.
This object is often incorrectly called a "dinner holder".
