Northampton & London. in the rich interior lace, covers with quadruple framing fillets, spine ribbed decorated with rich gilt seasons, titles and volume numbers in gilt, cream endpapers and edges gilded in bright gold. Racine's tragedies announced by an engraved title in frontispiece printed according to the Copy Printed in Paris in 1690 Contain for the first volume: La Thebaïde, ou les Frères Ennemis, Alexander the Great; Andromaque; Britannicus and the Plaideurs - & for the second volume: Bérénice; Bajazet; Mithridate; Iphigénie; Phèdre & Hippolyte; Hester. All illustrated with beautiful engravings for each title and with headbands and tailpieces... Remarkable, neat edition for this masterpiece of theatre by the Grand Racine...
