"Mameluke Officer's Dagger Of The Consular Guard, Consulate Period, 1802"
Gold-plated brass frame composed of an upper part and a lower part:

The upper part measures 6.8 cm in length x 3.1 cm in width x 2.5 cm in height approximately

The lower part forms a skirt of about 6.4 cm wide x 2.5 cm high;

The guard is punched "VERSAILLES".

Fluted wooden rocket, width in the upper part 5.5 cm, width in the lower part 4.5 cm, height about 11.5 cm.

Sheath entirely in brass, entrance of protruding bowl finely marked with the line.

Button for the passage of the belt in the shape of an elongated drop, height 4.2 cm approx.

Sting bearing a punch with the initials "JC"

Double-edged curved blade with central edge, signed at the heel

"Manufacture of Klingenthal" on one side and on the other " Couleaux Frères".

Blade length 36.5 cm, heel width 3.3 cm, heel thickness 8 mm.

Total length of the dagger about 53.5 cm

The blade with the intact tip has a slight rust on the surface and is very well sharpened.

Some slots in the guard wood as well as small remnants of material.

The eyelet above the guard in the upper part is aimed.

The whole is in very good uncleaned condition.

First French manufacture of mamelouck dagger, 1802, having its gold-plated handle trims.
