HELMET OF THE FIREFIGHTERS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, model 1855 modified 1872, Third Republic.
Entirely in brass, crest stamped with 11 gadroons, front plate stamped in relief with the arms of the city of Paris framed by an oak branch and a laurel branch topped with a ribbon bearing the inscription "SAPEURS POMPIERS DE PARIS". Visor and neck cover encircled with a brass reed folded astride the outer edge, neck cover registered (5032). Chinstraps composed of a chin strap in soft leather covered with black waxed sheepskin covered with a series of decreasing scales cut alternately into two and three festoons. Round rosettes with protruding moldings. Tubular-shaped plume holder with a square section decreasing towards the bottom. Interior in leather with eight wolf teeth.
