Countermark CG, inside the handle, of Claude 1er GONELLE received master in 1737.
Countermark on the inside bottom with the city's coat of arms: single-headed eagle with columns.
Height: 26 cm.
Besançon, Mid-18th century
Good condition - A small defect in the original weld in the middle part of the belly is located by an arrow on one of the photos.
These pitchers were the wine measures of the Ancien Régime. Those used in public places, inns, bars, etc., had to be checked periodically by the inspector-gauger who affixed a stamp indicating that the pitcher offered "good measure".
