"Rare Charles X Vase In Yellow Opal Crystal"
Baluster vase called "urn" in yellow opal crystal. This shade is very rare. It is the Creuzot crystal factory that first colored yellow crystal with antimony sulfide. Julia de Fontenelle in 1829, gave several compositions of yellow opaline including "antimony yellow colored by lead oxide". This shade is very irregularly colored turning to amber or purple. These opalines date from 1815 to 1820 when production stopped. Gilded bronze frame with chiseled decoration of water leaves. Octagonal base. Height: 16 cm
