THE BLADE is made up of 4 steel edges arranged in a cross. They join to form the point, which is a very strong square section, intended to pierce chainmail. This specific destination against chainmail allows us to locate the origin of the weapon in the region of central Europe, although an Ottoman origin could possibly be considered, but the point is much too large to be mounted on a Djeridj, (small short Ottoman javelin)
THE SOCKET: it is in one piece with the point and of hollow octagonal section. The oxidation at the level of this part is quite marked, which could suggest a dating much earlier than the 17th century to which I place the piece to be cautious.
Length of blades = 29.8 cm width of blades near the socket 3 cm, length of the socket = 22.7 cm Total length 52.5 cm diameter of the socket 1.7 cm
