"Flemish School (xviii) - Dog Fight"
- Oil on canvas. - In the tradition of great artists such as Snyders or De Vos, this painting masterfully combines a clear narrative sense with the naturalistic desire to push the representation of reality to the extreme. Two dogs, a greyhound that appears through the door of the canvas, and a spaniel appear a few moments before the duel, on the checkered floor typical of the Netherlands. In the upper right corner we see the exhibition of the products of the hunting operations: a francolin and a woodcock. Immediately below, fruits and vegetables come out of a basket. A painting of great decorative and artistic value. - Dimensions of the image without frame: 131 x 88 cm / 147 x 101 cm with magnificent old frame, probably the original. - It comes from a private collection of paintings in Brussels. - Good general condition. The painting has been restored at an early date and shows signs of past interventions on the back and when observed under an ultraviolet lamp. - Galerie Montbaron attaches a technical sheet established by a qualified art historian with all its lots. This sheet is sent in digital format and on request.
