*Cécile Baillot-Jourdan was born in 1887 in Saint Mard en Othe, daughter of Auguste Fenat, carpenter, justice of the peace and Cécile Caroline Jouhaud-Lavalade.
Her maternal uncle Jules Auguste Jouhaud Lavalade known as Jourdan, lawyer and wealth manager was a resident member of the Société Académique de l'Aube in the Arts section.
Cécile Baillot-Jourdan was a painter and ceramist, she worked particularly at the beginning of the 20th century.
In 1922, the modern review of Arts and Life by CE Curinier wrote about her: " [...] silent, far from any clique, free from any influence, she devotes herself to her art at her leisure, freely follows her fantasy, lets herself go at the whim of an inspiration that is always seductive. She thus passes from portrait to flower, from still life to landscape, with an ease that is sometimes disconcerting, so much do we discover in each of her works an easy and intelligent understanding of such diverse subjects".
