Sheep Resting Under The Trees. Ruggero Panerai. (1862-1923). Italian School.

Restful canvas depicting a flock of sheep resting in the shade of trees on a summer day. Beautiful atmosphere. It is an oil on canvas mounted on cardboard. Good condition. The work is signed in ink, in pen at the bottom left and bears on the reverse the stamp of the Panerai estate in 1923 in Florence. Panerai Ruggero is an Italian artist born in 1862 in Florence and died in 1923 in Paris. He is referenced as a history and animal painter. He was a student of Giovanni Fattori. He began in 1887; he participated in all the Italian salons and exhibited in Paris in 1889 (Universal Exhibition), where he was awarded a medal. The Florence museum preserves his works. Dimensions of the canvas alone, 55 cm x 38 cm. It is presented in a more modern frame total dimensions, 70 cm x 53 cm.
