"Painted Romantic Miniature"
Candide may not be... but romantic for sure... She never tires of being "chatted up" by the elegant young man. They say she gets flirted with... They say she is not insensitive to the charm of the young suitor... All this romance is painted on an ivory-colored melamine plate that gives a beautiful translucency to the scene. The oval frame is made of gilded metal that has some traces of use. The black plate of the support seems more recent.
