Galerie Lelong Éditeur, Paris. One of the most recognized Canadian painters in Canada and abroad during his lifetime, Jean Paul Riopelle (1923–2002) is also one of the most important engravers that Canada has known Riopelle is one of the most prolific engravers, with some 300 prints created over thirty years. Insects, and especially flies, are another of Riopelle's animal leitmotifs
