Antique Gilt Bronze Figural Clock 19th Century Cherub Messenger Neoclassical

Awesome bronze work to this marble-based chamber clock by unknown maker of late 19th century – little angel-herald loudly announces the arrival of an important moment by blowing the trumpet and beating the drum. The combination of gilded bronze and white stone finishes gives this clock a sense of luxury and sophistication, while the intricate handcrafting reflects the high level of craftsmanship of its creator. The neoclassical style prevalent in this work draws inspiration from the art and architecture of ancient Rome and Greece.
Size app.: 28.5 cm (roughly 11.2 in) high, 33.5 cm (roughly 13.2in) wide, 15.5 cm (roughly 6.1 in) deep. Very good condition, minor age and usage wear, gold finish very well preserved, movement is running for some time but stops, striking is ok, needs service.
