Object description :

"Léonard Boudin - Louis XV Period Violet Wood Lady's Desk - Stamped"
Violet wood, rosewood and amaranth veneer Lady's desk. It opens with 3 drawers on the front and a sloping top revealing a leather writing desk, shelves, four stepped drawers and a central hiden trapdoor. Our desk is a middle piece of furniture intended to be placed in the center of a room or against a wall, it is veneered on all sides and decorated with a rich trim of ormolu bronzes. Parisian work from the Louis XV period, early 1760s. It bears the stamp of Léonard Boudin and the JME jurande hallmark under the belt.

Léonard Boudin (1735-1804) - Cabinetmaker. Paris. Master on March 4, 1761. Initially working for Migeon, Boudin quickly became successful and one of the main traders in Paris offering his work and that of other talented cabinetmakers. Boudin left behind Louis XV, Transition and Louis XVI style furnitures, always of excellent manufacture, which can be found today in the greatest museums.

Beautiful, very elegant amateur furniture, ideal for completing an 18th century decor, the desk has beautiful lines and is neither too big nor too small. Excellent condition, completely restored by our cabinetmaker with a superb varnish. Traces of old restorations and veneer repairs.

Dimensions: Height 92cm Width 100cm Depth 48cm
