Old Costume Jewelry Set Aida Theater Play

Reproduction of the costume jewelery worn by Aida in the opera by Giuseppe Verdi and Antonio Ghislanzoni, based on an original subject by the French archaeologist Auguste Mariette, first personal director of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
Auguste Mariette himself drew the sketches of the clothing of the characters in the work, adapting the Egyptian iconography, represented by the bas-reliefs, to the needs of the scene.

This set was made in the early 1900s in brass, rhinestones and glass paste.

In good general condition, note the lack of some rhinestones in the center of the winged plate (see last photo).
