The Legras firm was founded by Auguste Jean-François Legras (1817 - 1887) around 1864 in St. Denis, near Paris.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the company specialized in the production of acid-etched cameo glass, inspired by Gallé's pieces.
Legras & Cie produced a multitude of pieces intended for sale, as well as several pieces of particular quality intended for exhibition at international fairs.
