Object description :

"Louis Philippe Chest Of Drawers, Late 19th Century, In Burl Walnut"
French Louis Philippe chest of drawers, late 19th century. The wood is walnut burl.

The walnut burl is flamed because it has many aesthetic designs. These designs have very contrasting complex patterns and intertwined veins on a naturally dark background of varying intensities.

This chest of drawers is equipped with five drawers, including a secret hidden in the plinth of the furniture.

The drawers are mounted in dovetail, thus ensuring perfect solidity. The drawers can be opened daily and contain many sometimes heavy objects. They slide perfectly.

The discrete entrances are not protruding from the surface. They are wooden and are called trefoil entrances. The key opens the four drawers. The secret drawer opens from below.

The chest of drawers is perfectly stable. It rests on low feet that respect the shape of the furniture at the front and are called "patin" and two straight feet at the back.

The top of the chest of drawers is a gray Saint Anne marble molded on the sides and the front. The molding is worked and called "pair of buttocks". The marble is richly veined and in perfect condition. The marble has undergone a customary restoration at the marble worker.

The back of the chest of drawers has solid wood panels, so very resistant.

In the 19th century, all famous houses had a Louis Philippe chest of drawers with simple and elegant lines. The reign of Louis-Philippe made cabinetmakers happy. The latter valued large smooth surfaces, worked and selected the veneer in order to obtain the most beautiful patterns.

The dresser has its place in every room of your home and will be the most beautiful effect.

It will draw attention to the quality of the wood, the softness of its lines. It will bring warmth, relaxation and well-being to your home. Its creator invites us to understand, to establish an intimate and unique relationship.

This piece of furniture passed down from generation to generation is enriched by its history by settling into your home. You will bring your piece of the story puzzle to your turn. You will highlight it by playing with its lines. You will have your favorite objects on its marble.

It is a piece of furniture with character.

The interior of the furniture has been cleaned so that the objects are stored in a very healthy and odourless environment.
