Black lacquered metal, foam and gray mottled fabric.
Made for the Grand-Quevilly Town Hall (Seine-Maritime, France) in 1975 by Joseph-André Motte.
Joseph-André Motte was a very important French designer. His agency took on numerous public commissions; he conceived the design of Orly Airport (1958-1961) and the Cergy-Pontoise prefecture (1970). Following on from these creations for public spaces ( government orders), he created the « Trèfle » bench for the hall of the Grand-Quevilly town hall (Seine-Maritime, France).
This project shows how, after the great reconstruction of the 1950s, local authorities continued to call on renowned architects and designers to design their spaces and thus nurture contemporary creativity.
