Large Bed + 2 Marquetry Bedside Tables, Napoleon III, 19th Century

Rare large bed in marquetry and very rich ornamentation of gilded bronzes (garlands, flower vines wrapped around the columns of the headboard, ..) accompanied by its 2 bedside tables

The bedside tables are topped with marble, each have a drawer and a door (2 false drawers) and a small wire mesh gallery at the bottom

The bed is assembled with lag screws and is of a rare size for the time

We find a label "Schmit ébéniste d'art tapissier 22 rue de Charonne Paris"
The Maison Schmit has been established in Paris since 1818, and has received international recognition, thanks to the universal exhibitions of 1878 and 1889.

Some chips and wear from use, some losses to the veneer (mainly on lateral bars) - a restored marble
