"Yoruba Satuettes: Ibeji Twins"
Nigeria, beautiful and ancient pair of ibeji figures intended for the cult of the twins represented standing, the heads surmounted by high characteristic headdresses. They are decorated with necklaces carved from the mass and red glass beads, and wear beautiful costumes covered with cowries. Superb intense patina. Provenance: Estate of the collector and art dealer Claude de Marteau. H 30 cm x W 23 CM XP 14 CM
