"Jean Roulland (1931-2021) - Portrait"
Bronze portrait with medal patina by Jean ROULLAND (1931-2021) Signed on the back, and numbered 360 /1000 H:26 cm Born in 1931 in Croix, near Roubaix, Jean ROULLAND trained at the Beaux-Arts schools of Roubaix and Paris. The artist revealed his talent in bronze, pastel and ceramics. Fascinated by bronze, he taught himself the lost wax process, and cast his own works in his studio in Vieille-Église. Jean ROULLAND was one of the last survivors of the Roubaix group, a collective of artists, alongside Arthur VAN HECKE and Eugène LEROY. He models the human figure with excess and arouses strong emotions, whether he draws a face in pastel or sculpts an emaciated body in bronze. In its original box
