Good general condition: patina of time, small losses and wear, small lifting of the veneer
This display case is attributed to the French artist Gabriel Viardot (1830-1904): Parisian cabinetmaker, he specialized in the creation of furniture inspired by the Japanese / Chinese taste, which he discovered at the 1967 Exposition Universelle.
He imported decorative panels in lacquer or relief from Asia, decorated with mother-of-pearl for example, and assembled them in his furniture to which he added bronze ornamentation.
The Japonism style has been a real success since the 19th century
