"Le rieur Napolitain No 1", terracotta proof created by the artist in 1863 and published by his workshop. This proof, bearing the Carpeaux property stamps at the Aigle Impériale as well as the rue Boilleau stamps in Auteuil, is of remarkable quality, both for its original patina and for the details and finesse of the hollow stamps. This proof has only undergone minor repairs on the pedestal.
