"Nude By Alfred Kornberger, Austria"
Alfred Kornberger was born on July 3rd, 1933, in Meidling, Vienna. After having finished the apprenticeship as lithographer, Alfred Kornberger attends the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. There he graduated under Professor Robin Christian Andersen in 1956, and was also awarded with the Gold Medal “Goldene Füger-Medaille für Graphik”. City Councillor for Culture, Viktor Matejka, supports the prospective, young artist who already in his beginnings accomplished far journeys to, amongst others, Norway, Sweden and Thailand. His paintings are colourful and very diverse. Abstract, figurative, expressive, constructive, and avant-garde movements dissolve into a kind of rollercoaster ride of painting. He skilfully cultivated the topic of apparent obscenity. It was a natural subject for him that he implemented in a pleasure-oriented way. In 1985, he was awarded the title of Professor – it is one of many awards Alfred Kornberger captured in his artistic life. In addition to studio art openings, there were numerous exhibitions and participations in exhibits. Many of his works are in public buildings and private collections.
