Emile Gallé (Nancy, 1846-1904) Famous French Glassmaker, Ceramicist and Cabinetmaker. He is also the cousin of Ernest Gallé (1836-1900), rentier and owner of the Gallé-Juillet house in Creil. Pioneer of Art Nouveau, Émile Gallé is the Founder of the Nancy School born in 1901. The Master glassmaker and cabinetmaker is known for his mastery of glass paste, his innovative marquetry as well as his decorative repertoire inspired by nature. He won a Gold Medal at the Universal and International Exhibition of Lyon in 1872. At the Universal Exhibition of Decorative Arts in 1889, he won a True Triumph.
