SILVER CHRISTENING SET
comprising a cup and a pair of cutlery.
The cup is signed "Odiot, Paris" and bears the number 7647.
The maker's marks of J. Granvigne appear on both the cup and the cutlery.
Dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
Kept in a leather-bound, the interior is signed "Odiot" and on top of it, it bears the initials "A.C."
The hallmark of J. Granvigne (J.G. and a vine) was used from 1868 until 1910. Our christening set therefore dates from this period. J. Granvigne was a skilled silversmith who carried out some subcontracting work for Odiot.
Case dimensions: approximately 26 x 8.5 cm.
Cup dimensions: approximately 7 x 6.3 cm.
Cutlery length: approximately 17 cm.
Net weight: 208.8 g (silver – 925/1000 – Minerva head hallmark).
Very good condition.
