Representation of a woman from 1900, perfectly depicting the headdress of that period. Signed on its base. Good general condition. Dimensions: D: 36 cm H: 46 cm. French sculptor, student at the École des beaux-arts de Lyon from 1890 to 1896, admitted to the École des beaux-arts de Paris in 1897. He won a first second prize at the Grand Prix de Rome in 1901 and the first grand prize in 1904. From 1905 to 1910, he stayed in Rome at the Villa Medici. Larrivé became director of the École des beaux-arts de Lyon in 1919, a position he held until his death. He led projects in collaboration with architects such as Jules Lavirotte and the ceramist Alexandre Bigot. In particular, he created numerous war memorials. Larrivé instilled poetry and sensuality in his figures. He was named a knight of the Legion of Honor in May 1926.
