"Louis XVI Period Drawing: Panoramic View Of Port Of Sete"
Elegant representation of the port of Sete at the end of the 18th century, done in black ink. The delicacy and precision of the artist's work, inevitably brings to mind the Dutch school, which produced so many great masters, particularly in the field of marines. Observe the teeming details, the architecture of the city, while the drawing is only 22.5 cm wide by 14 cm high. I have not been able to locate the site for the moment. The drawing has been cleaned and doubled to protect it (a very fine paper) and put back flat, which explains the perfect condition. The fine black and gold frame and the background are original. The glass must have been changed. A very pretty port document from the old regime.
