"Ghoum Silk Carpet - Iran, Imperial Workshop, Circa 1975"
This exceptional carpet, woven in an imperial workshop in Ghoum, Iran, around 1975, during the Shah's reign, is distinguished by its remarkable finesse with a density of approximately 12,000 knots per dm². It features a midnight blue field decorated with a large mirror-shaped medallion with an ivory crown, decorated with scrolls and garlands of flowering palmettes. A large central ivory and ruby rosette, surrounded by two stylized bulbs, completes this symmetrical pattern. The four spandrels repeat the elements of the central medallion, while the triple border, dominated by a ruby red shade, features stylized floral motifs. This carpet is in good general condition and offers refined graphics, exceptional decorative quality and remarkable color harmony. Measurements: length: 358 cm width: 279 cm
