Mick Micheyl, born in 1922, is a renowned French artist known for her career as a singer and songwriter as well as her talents as a painter, engraver, and sculptor. Under her real name, Paulette Jeanne Renée Michey, she began her studies at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, aiming for a career as a decorative painter. During her training, she made a name for herself by singing in a local troupe, participated in the singing contest at the Music-Hall ABC in Paris, and started performing in various Parisian cabarets, where she enjoyed resounding success for nearly twenty years as a singer, while also becoming a producer at ORTF. In 1974, she retired from the stage to focus on painting and sculpture, creating works in steel that she called her "peintôles," using metallic reflections to bring her creations to life. Her works, often inspired by the animal kingdom, achieved success comparable to that of her music and were exhibited both in France and internationally. In 2009, she ended her artistic career due to vision loss caused by metal shavings, and she passed away in 2019.
