"Pair Of Jugendstil Pewter Candlesticks By Imperial Zinn B&g Germany Circa 1900"
Very beautiful example of Eastern European Art Nouveau style. While keeping its plant spirit, the Germanic jugendstil offers a singular purification as can be seen with this pair of candlesticks like water lilies standing and punctuated with drops of water represented by the turquoise glass balls. In pewter patinated by time but which can shine like silver after a professional polishing. They are signed "Imperial Zinn B&G". It is a manufacturer of metal objects (Crefelder Metallwaren Fabrik) born with the last century from the will of two men: Peter Bitter and Kaufman Wilhelm Gobbens thus became the contraction "B&G" in the name. Under this signature, it is not uncommon to find objects in a spirit much closer to the French Art Nouveau style, this is due to the very close collaboration at that time with a French artist: Louis Eugène Maurel.
