Superb painting from the end of the 19th century. From the Brussels collection. Edouard Richter's mother was Dutch and he began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague before entering the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris where he was a student of Ernest Hébert and Léon Bonnat. His first exhibition took place in 1866. He is best known for his orientalist paintings. Measures with frame 88cm by 56cm
