"Narcissus - Bronze From The Excavations Of Pompeii - End Of The 19th Century "
Very beautiful bronze, copy of the original found in Pompeii in 1862 and today exhibited at the Archaeological Museum of Naples. Traditionally called Narcissus, this model actually represents the God Dionysus. It is a cast from the end of the 19th century whose patina reproduces those of the pieces just taken out of the earth called excavation patina. The base is screwed to the statue. Under the base a trace of restoration which attests to the antiquity of this model. Good general condition but we note a small oxidation at the level of one of the arms.
