Oval-shaped mirror in carved, gilded and pegged wood, with a molded rim alternating a decoration of laurel leaves, floral crosspieces, oak leaves and daisy interlacing. The whole is decorated with an openwork pediment with a ribboned knot and flanked by attributes of the Arts and Science such as a painter's palette, protractor, set square, telescope and rolled paper, finished in drapery and trimmings. Attributes of Music in its lower part such as scores, guitar, flute decorated with a crown of flowers. This mirror has retained its original mercury tint with alterations. Rear fixing in wrought iron, its darkening has been replaced. This mirror shows wear to the gilding with a very pretty patina of time and some small losses. Louis XVI period mirror.
