"Amazon Jacket In Woolen Cloth And Velvet - France Circa 1895-1905"
Circa 1895-1905 France Amazon jacket in black felted wool cloth and silk velvet shawl collar dating from the Belle Epoque. Fitted jacket with long basques slit at the back, elbow sleeves with Gigot pleats at the shoulders. Fully lined with black cotton sateen. Front closure with four buttons covered with black Ottoman twill (a small button is missing). This type of jacket emphasizing the waist and hips was worn by elegant women for sporting activities including horse riding but also for driving a car! Entirely hand-sewn and without major defects. Very good condition. Dimensions: equivalent to French size 38.
