Beautiful and large copper JUG, with baluster body with depressed base, truncated neck, oblique straight foot, bridged spillway at the neck, molded domed lid and swinging handle. Rolled thumb.
Control mark with crowned R affixed twice on the movable handle.
Height: 39 cm.
SOUTH OF FRANCE, End of the 17th or beginning of the 18th century.

Très bon état. Small tears and wear of the copper winding around the iron stiffener of the base. These hallmarks with crowned C or R are very rare to see on utilitarian copperware.
