Valentine de Talleyrand-Périgord (1830-1913) daughter of Napoleon-Louis de Talleyrand-Périgord and Anne Louise Charlotte de Montmorency

Portrait bears a label on the back with the following text: "Given to Poncelet as a mark of recognition and attachment for the way she took care of my two precious little girls Yolande and Dorothée, whose memories I will keep for her forever November 9, 1840 Montmorency d. Valancay”
Thanks to this we know that this portrait was offered by Anne-Louise-Caroline de Goyon de Matignon, Duchess of Montmorency to a person named Poncelet, who took care of the two granddaughters of the Duchess Yolande and Dorothée, both of them died very young. Presumably this person was close to the family for a few years, and this portrait of Yolande and Dorothée's big sister, Valentine, was given to her as a keepsake. Valentine in her turn lived a fairly long life, and married Vincent Charles Henri D'ETCHEGOYEN in 1855.
