Hungarian guard enriched with fine engravings. Blackened fluted wooden grip. Elegantly cut cap with overflow. Rectangular lugs bearing the regiment's No. 6. Guard branch decorated with a medallion engraved with a hunting horn. Quillon curved downwards ending in the shape of a trumpet bell.
Curved blade with half-round back, groove and single hollow side, blued and gilded in the third with ornaments of trophies and floral motifs. Heel engraved, on the guard side "Coulaux frères Entrepreneurs" and on the counterguard side "Manufacture Nationale d'armes blanches de Klingenthal". Carp tongue point with strong counter-edge.
Sheet iron scabbard with recess for the lugs. Strong domed bail bracelets. Original urn-shaped bail studs.
This is a very beautiful production of the factory. It is referenced in the work "Des sabres et des épées" by Michel Pétard, Volume One under No. 137. This weapon is in good general condition and has been enriched with the patina of time.
