"Rare Pair Of Vases With "chinoiserie", Rocaille, Attr. Jacob Petit, Paris, 19th Century"
A rare pair of Rocaille vases on a pedestal with a long neck that unfolds almost like a flower. The handles are unusual, with gilded female creatures with small bat wings sitting on the edges of the vases like thinkers. Both vases are decorated with scenes painted in the Chinese style. These ‘Chinoiseries’ were very popular in the 19th century. Gold highlights. No mark but could be attributed to the eccentric Jacob Petit. A firing crack in one handle.
Dimensions: H 40 cm - diameter of base 17cm - max W 20 cm
