Pair of Louis XV Friezes Gilded 1700 Scrolling Foliate Carving Ex Mirror copings in good age related condition, gilded in gold-leaf on a preparation of Armenian red bole. Most likely they were born as mirror copings to which the feet were added following the transformation. Despite the complexity of the decorative motif typical of the Rococo, it is a right and a left, i.e. the carvings are reflected. They can be used as over door decorations or as simple wall decorations. Of Italian origin, 1750s circa.
