"Umbrella And Sewing Box"
Painting representing an umbrella and sewing kit signed by Charles Cerny born in Prague in 1892 and died in 1960. Czech painter and engraver. Arrived in France in 1913 to continue his studies, he enlisted for the duration of the war. A landscape painter, he exhibited in Paris at the Indépendants from 1913, at the Salon de la Nationale in 1922, at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1930 to 1939 of which he was a member outside the competition as well as at the Salon d'Automne from 1922 to 1932. He was appointed official painter of the navy in 1952.
