The manufactory, known as Aelteste Volkstedter Porzellanmanufaktur or the 'Oldest Volkstedt Porcelain Manufactory', was the first of its kind in Thuringia, Germany, established in the 1760s. This particular item is from the late 19th century, specifically between 1877 and 1894.
The statuette is adorned with flowers, detailed and meticulously hand-painted. The cherubs are beautifully glazed with polychrome overglaze details that enhance the piece's brightness and depth. It rests on a part of a rococo coaster, used as a stand.
