Large Teak Travel Trunk - Late 19th Century

This large teak chest is composed of a single board each on the top, sides and front. As a guarantee of solidity, the corners are decorated with brass reinforcements and, on each edge, with brass strips. The dovetailed panels are also screwed. The lid locks with a functional and original two-point lock with a chiseled surface-mounted entry and key. This lid, mounted on three hinges, is held open by a wooden element on the back of the chest. The interior offers a large storage space as well as three niches. Two side niches with a lid carved with relief patterns and an open niche in the center arranged horizontally.
