"Louis XVI Style Sideboard Made Of Marquetry & Gilt Bronze Stamped Vincent Epeaux Paris"
Vincent Épeaux (1862-1945) – Parisian cabinetmaker close to Hector Guimard and promoter of Art Nouveau. He won the silver medal at the 1900 World's Fair and took over the management of the industrial patronage of the Enfants de l'Ébénisterie in 1912.

Magnificent sideboard made of rosewood and mahogany marquetry, richly decorated with very finely chiseled gilded bronze. Opening with five drawers and three doors in geometric marquetry composed of rosewood diamonds interspersed with mahogany fillets.
The sides are rounded and have niches covered with mahogany veneer in frieze and a marble shelf.
Thick peach blossom marble top molded in a groove, following the central and lateral projections of the piece of furniture.

Stenciled stamp of the Epeaux house in Paris.

Note the finesse of the bronzes and the original gilding which has remained very fresh.

Circa 1900.

Also for sale from the same house is a smaller buffet of the same model.
