Miniature portrait of round shape late 18th century painted in watercolor and gouache. It represents a young woman of quality, seated, arms crossed, in a wooded landscape. Her fine face with dark eyes is framed by blond hair styled in ringlets falling on her shoulders. She wears a refined outfit: Her blue satin dress with a deep neckline is decorated with a large pink bow. She wears an elegant wide-brimmed hat decorated with a dark blue ribbon and white feathers. Her expression is pensive. The artist has managed to render the softness of the harmonious colors that stand out against the dark background of the vegetation on the right as well as her melancholic expression; the left side is on the contrary as luminous as the young woman with a gap of blue sky and lush vegetation.
