"Dental Forceps Or Clamps, Late 17th Century"
Dental forceps or pliers constructed of wrought iron and datable to the end of the 17th century. This early form of curved forceps was used for the extraction of lower teeth. The straight handle ends in a heart shape and the lower handle is folded which allows a better grip and to apply more force during extraction. Beautiful original condition, without breakage or restoration. Beautiful patina. The instrument measures 12.5cm
