"Jean Lair De La Haye (1889-?) Schooners At Quay In The Old Port Of Marseille"
Always a lively technique and broad brushstrokes spread from a first draft on a thick canvas revealing reserves, which gives strength and truth to this work by the painter born in Rennes but adopted by Provence Jean Lair de La Haye. The work in perfect condition is offered in a modern black frame of the American box type which measures 65.5 cm by 90 cm, and 58.5 cm by 81 cm for the canvas alone. It represents schooners at the quay in the Old Port of Marseille, a few steps from the bell tower of the Church of the Augustins a few steps from the famous rue de La Canebière. The work is signed at the bottom left.
