Bookends representing small sparrows signed on the base M Bertin Charles Maurice Favre-Bertin was born on November 13, 1887 in Paris and died on August 7, 1960 in Clichy is a French sculptor, decorator and medalist. A student of G Greber and C Monni, Charles Maurice Favre-Bertin began at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1920. He received a gold medal in 1929 and a medal of honor in 1959, decorative arts section. He rests next to his daughter, the actress Silvia Monfort (1923-1991) at the Père Lachaise cemetery
