Baccarat — Rare Series Of 7 Clear And Satin Crystal Plates, Circa 1880.

Extremely rare set of six (x 6) circular-section, partially satin-finished, molded-pressed clear crystal TABLE PLATES, with central decoration of a projecting rosette surrounded by a double-row diamond-point motif, and a serrated rim.
The set of six plates, measuring 19cm in diameter, is in excellent condition (the state of preservation is precisely, completely and exhaustively stated below).

ATTACHED to this set of six plates is a seventh and final plate, identical in design but slightly smaller in diameter (17.30 CM), also in very good condition.
This appears to be a dessert plate.

The set we offer here therefore comprises seven (7) pieces:
    - six (6) dinner plates, diameter 19.20 CM ;
    - with one (1) dessert plate, diameter 17,30 CM.

Rare and interesting production from the Manufacture de BACCARAT.
The model, which is old, has no signature; it is, however, not unknown, and appears in various period commercial plates (notably the 1893 catalog).  In particular, it was produced as cups, mustard pots, sugar bowls... plates, as a rule, are quite rare!
Some influence of Charles X and Napoleon III styles in the design.
 
The opalescent finish creates a beautiful play of texture and contrast between clear and satin-finish crystal.
A particularly rare and interesting series of plates.

CONDITION REPORT,
STATE OF PRESERVATION :
the set of plates is, overall, in excellent condition: there are no chips, no accidents, and the crystal is perfectly limpid, without opacification or alteration (no calcareous haze).
 
For greater precision, the condition of each plate is detailed below, piece by piece, for each of the seven :
- first plate: excellent condition.  Tiny, minute rubs on the reverse of the base, which have no effect whatsoever and are invisible when the plate is set down (these are not chips).  This plate remains perfect.
- Second plate: very good condition, despite minor signs of use.  A few minor scratches on the inside of the plate, almost invisible and of no consequence (see photo no. 3), and very slight signs of use on the reverse of the base, invisible (rubbing around the rim, quite negligible, see photo no. 4).
- third plate: excellent condition.  Minimal, invisible marks of use on the reverse of the base, around the rim, without any impact.  The plate is perfect!
- fourth plate: very good condition.  Slight marks of use on the reverse of the base (rubbing, slightly marked, see photo no. 5, but not serious and hardly visible). Slight patina from the passage of time, but the plate remains in good condition, with no accidents.
- fifth plate: excellent condition, with the exception of very slight, invisible rubbing under the base, which has no effect and is not visible when the plate is set down.- sixth plate: excellent condition, very slight rubbing under the base, not visible, and a tiny jump of material, still under the base, slightly visible from the front but not really serious (photo no. 6).
- last plate: a few original air bubbles in the crystal.Tiny, inconsistent jumps in the crystal on the reverse of the base, under the plate, very small in size and absolutely invisible when the plate is set down (see photo no. 7, but this is really an unimportant detail).
Very slight interior scratches, not very visible.

Overall, this set is in near-perfect condition.
The few signs of use are normal for an object of this age, and in no way detract from its interest or function.
The possibility of finding, at random, tiny and very fine interior scratches, which are in no way serious and virtually undetectable.

The set remains, truly, in excellent overall condition!
